Pepe's on the River

Last evening I left the campground and drove to Pepe's on the River, an apparently legendary local joint. It was less than five minutes away. Live music at 5:30 p.m.






Pepe's is an open sided structure year round.



You are looking over the shoulders of these gentlemen at the band.



The band is in the far background on the right.





The river to which “Pepe's on the River” refers is the Rio Grande.





The river is not very wide at this location. It feels as if one could almost reach across the water and touch Mexico.



I had two very large tacos with chicken and the usual accompaniment in the taco for $2.00 a pop. They filled me up. The first restaurant food for me in a while.
