We are in the midst of the San Miguel International Jazz & Blues Festival. It has gotten my attention. Last Friday evening I attended the performance by Denise Perrier. She is very popular in Russia of all places. These videos were performances taped in Russia.
Denise Perrier appeared in San Miguel with a quintet called Swing Fever, a great group in its own right.
Of course La Mexicana knows her personally, having made Denise's acquaintance during previous appearances here and having maintained an email correspondence with her since. I met Denise before her performance last Friday evening, and she is a charmer.
Tonight it will be David Sanchez, the great puertorriqueño saxophonist. It will be some heavy, heavy duty jazz, and I am looking forward to it immensely. From his tour of Germany:
Lastly, be sure and check out The Hot Club of San Francisco if you enjoy jazz in the style of the immortal Django Reinhardt.

How can one not be charmed by a guy who thinks up a name like Cultural Survival for one of his ditties. Nice material. I bet the show is fantastic.
Sorry, deleted previous post due to typo..Thanks for sharing the great voice of Denise Perrier.
I'm a closet jazz fan...

Geez, I thought maybe you had fallen off the face of the earth or something. Stay safe and strong! Looks like you're having lots of fun. Cheers, Candy
