Next, I find that my neighbor, Joachim, now has up on his site some fantastic photos of Día de Los Locos, Day of the Crazy People, a unique fiesta that I stumbled upon earlier this summer without my camera. You can see those here.
Last, this is a short video that I did of a very enthusiastic couple at the fiesta Pre-Party up at El Jardin this past Friday evening. This is the last time you will have to look at those bells ringing. I promise.
In one sense La Alborada is precisely the kind of event that I usually avoid at this stage in my life, an event that involves a big crowd of people, some of whom are intoxicated, and fireworks. Fireworks are not a huge draw for me anymore. Intoxicated people are certainly not. What fascinates me about La Alborada is that it comes off at FOUR O'CLOCK IN THE MORNING.

Oh Steve, Manuel Chú brought tears to my eyes. I can't even imagine how gorgeous this had to be in person.
